“In dogs morphine exhibits a rapid clearence, which resukts in a short halflife. Following IV/IM administration of a standard dose, plasma concentration reaches analgesic concentration rapidly, although it decreases below effective levels in few hours. As a result ery short administratio intervals are required to maintain effective analgesia.”
