Aims, figures, and contact details
The Italian Society of Veterinary Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (ISVRA) was founded by three Italian veterinary anaesthetists in 2001. Founder members are: Alessandro Bonioli, Lorenzo Novello and Enrico Stefanelli.
Main aims of the Society are:
- to encourage worldwide collaboration among all those interested in anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and pain medicine in animals
- to promote, support and establish speciality qualifications in veterinary anaesthesia and pain medicine
- to promote professional development, disseminate information and encourage discussion in all aspects of veterinary anaesthesia, including regional anaesthesia and pain medicine
- to support specific projects that enhance the speciality of anaesthesia and are not supported by other bodies
- to issue the profession with practice standards, guidelines and recommendations
