Aims, figures, and contact details

The Italian Society of Veterinary Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (ISVRA) was founded by three Italian veterinary anaesthetists in 2001. Founder members are: Alessandro Bonioli, Lorenzo Novello and Enrico Stefanelli.

Main aims of the Society are:

1. to encourage worldwide collaboration among all those interested in anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and pain medicine in animals
2. to promote, support and establish speciality qualifications in veterinary anaesthesia and pain medicine
3. to promote professional development, disseminate information and encourage discussion in all aspects of veterinary anaesthesia, including regional anaesthesia and pain medicine
4. to support specific projects that enhance the speciality of anaesthesia and are not supported by other bodies
5. to issue the profession with practice standards, guidelines and recommendations
